Tamara Catz is a real island girl.

In Maui, she designs wedding dresses, casual wear, caps, swimwear, even dresses made out of the surfer’s rash guards for her self-named brand Tamara Catz. For manufacturing, she makes her island fashions in yet another island paradise, this one an ocean away in Bali.

But she went mainland recently. Last month, she opened a pop-up shop in the surfy-hipster neighborhood of Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. The pop-up is scheduled to close sometime in June. But Bethany, manager of the Venice store, (wearing rash guard top) says that the island designer plans to keep an outpost around Venice. Mahalo! from Apparel News blog, by Andrew Asch

Tamara Catz Boutique Now Open on Abbot Kinney

After two years of planning for a location on Abbot Kinney, the Tamara Catz Boutique has opened in the previously Venice Vintage Paradise space at 1144 Abbot Kinney.

The store is Argentinian designer Catz’s second store, the first being in Paia on the north shore of Maui. Catz creates a new collection every 6 weeks, giving her “the ability to adapt and create for our market and put our customers feedback into action immediately bringing to the table
